While summer doesn’t technically end until September 23, many people start to feel it winding down when school supplies hit the store shelves. It’s the end of July now, and lots of people are still trying to squeeze in the last bit of fun before heading back to school.

Here are some fun facts about summer activities that might entice you to find your own fun for these last few carefree weeks of the season.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there are 4,396 campgrounds in America. Revenue from those campgrounds reached $2.1 billion during the third quarter of 2018, which tells us that lots of Americans enjoy camping.

Maybe you prefer an amusement park instead? There are 579 of them located in the United States. It’s a big business that hit $6.9 billion during the third quarter of 2018. Luckily for us, there are a few great ones within easy driving distance!

Golfing is another popular summertime activity. There are over 11,000 golf courses and country clubs in the United States.

After a long day of summer activity, don’t forget to refuel. But it’s hot outside, and nobody wants to cook! Thankfully, there are 553,102 restaurants to choose from in the U.S., according to a 2016 survey. With so many choices, surely everyone could agree on one….
